Memlekette

A photo from Easter Sunday.. Anna and me, pre-St. Bart’s in NY. Best brunch ever after at Le Chat Noir.

A photo of my dad and me from when I was about 2. How much does my dad look like he belongs in either Williamsburg or Greenpoint? (also, get a load of how much HAIR he used to have! Love you daddy!)

For all those interested and concerned, he’s doing great. Obviously there are good days and bad days, but by all accounts, he is getting better. You can see it in his skin color (no longer highlighter yellow) and his movements (more smooth and fluid, less jerky and nervous) and his voice (strong and confident, the way I’ve always known him). There’s still some ways to go, but we continue to have hope and be optimistic.

Last weekend I got out for a little bit and did the first half of a scuba diving class. I met some fun people and I’m excited about finishing up my certification! Neil finished his a few months ago, so I’m excited for us to go diving someday ๐Ÿ™‚ I also got to see Elise who was in town for the weekend and we hit up our favorite wine bar. Yummy ๐Ÿ™‚

Two days til Neil gets here and I’m taking him on a secret trip!! I can’t wait. We’ll be camping for a few days.. That should be interesting ๐Ÿ˜‰ Our first camping trip! Hopefully he likes the location I’ve chosen!

That’s pretty much all that’s been going on these days. Not super exciting but that’s ok. It’s good to have some peace, although I do miss Turkey a lot. I will be excited to visit in the future! I have a Skype date with Selรงuk and his mom tomorrow to make stuffed grape leaves. Yummy ๐Ÿ™‚ Cannot wait!
